You Need to Heal
Welcome! Starting another week here at The Boot. And, I always begin my Mondays with a new Scripture to memorize.
As a physical therapist, I encourage you to take walks, to be active, and fit for God’s service. Walking is a wonderful time to memorize Scripture and get it firmly planted in your mind.
“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 is easy to memorize, but extremely difficult to put into practice. Pray for God to show you ways to begin the practice of loving the unlovable.
Maybe you have some deeply rooted anger or resentment aimed at someone who has hurt you. (I have.) Maybe you are thinking yourself better than someone else, someone who is less educated or less well off. (I have.) Whatever it is, God will reveal it.
Once He does, pray for His strength to forgive and to love. I can speak from personal knowledge, you will not be able to do it using your own strength. Your flesh wants to stay mad or hurt. But, God wants you to let it go and love. Love will heal the emotional wounds and you need to heal. God wants you to heal.
As my grandma always said, “Staying mad is only hurting you. It’s not hurting them.” Grandma was right. It’s time to let God heal you.
Have a great week, dear friends.
Love y’all,
