Why Does My Baby Only Look To One Side?
When your baby is a newborn, her looking to one side is usually not noticed. However, when she begins to look around and has some wobbly head control, all of a sudden you notice she isn’t looking to both right and left sides.
Something to be concerned about? Yes. Click here to see how I check for neck tightness.
For most babies, the likely reason is tight neck muscles.
If he can’t turn his head to both sides, then he may have tight neck muscles or a problem with his neck bones (spinal bones forming the neck). The best thing to do is to talk to your pediatrician.
She may order x-rays or other diagnostic tests and/or refer your baby to physical therapy for further evaluation and treatment.
The treatments for this are easy and effective, especially when the tightness is addressed early. So, don’t talk yourself into waiting to see if it gets better. Experience tells me, it won’t.
In the meantime, try alternating your baby’s position in the crib. You probably always lay him with his head at the same end. Sometimes lay him with his head at the other end.
When your baby is in a swing or carrier, make sure to rearrange things so sometimes he’s turning to the left to see you and sometimes he’s turning to the right.

Sometimes doing some changes in the daily routine is enough to alleviate the tightness.
But, get it checked by your doctor. It’s never wrong to be safe.
